Massage Therapy

Registered Massage Therapists assess and treat pain and physical dysfunction of the soft tissues and joints of the body mostly by soft tissue manipulation. Assessment and treatment can include orthopaedic and neurological testing, soft tissue manipulation (Swedish massage is the most commonly used technique), hydrotherapy, remedial exercise programs and client education programs.

Jason graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Honours in Biology prior to completing his Masters of Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto. He has a dedication to continuing education and has completed multiple post-graduate courses in soft tissue release, acupuncture, dry needling, movement patterning, and manual therapy. He is a McMaster Contemporary Medical Acupuncture practitioner, a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT), and certified in Gunn intramuscular stimulation (Gunn IMS).

Jason has experience treating a number of unique populations including post-operative total joint replacements, military personnel, injured workers, and recreational and elite athletes. In his spare time he enjoys travelling, rock climbing, hiking, and strength training.

Jason’s treatment style is centered around manual therapy, acupuncture/dry needling, and exercise prescription.

Asra is a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) with over 10 years of experience in therapeutic massage and rehabilitation. She is a member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario since 2013 and is also an active member of the Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of Ontario. Before becoming an RMT, Asra practiced as a Physiotherapist in India for 8 years, which has given her a strong foundation in physical rehabilitation and hands-on care. This wealth of knowledge is integrated into her massage therapy practice, performing thorough assessments and applying the most effective therapeutic techniques personalized for each client. Her massage therapy practice modalities include swedish massage, deep tissue massage, trigger point release therapy, myofascial release and cupping. Additionally, she is experienced in sports injury rehabilitation, post-surgical rehabilitation and recovery and pre and post natal massage. She offers tailored home exercise programs to help maintain and enhance your progress. Asra is passionate about helping her clients achieve their wellness goals.

Vaiva Underys graduated from Western University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy and returned in 2011 to complete a Master of Clinical Science in 2012. She is also a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapists and has training in acupuncture from the Acupuncture Foundation Institute. She has also been a mentor for physiotherapists going through manual therapy credentialling through the Orthopedic Division of the Candian Physiotherapy Association.

Vaiva has had the privilege of working with patients of all ages in the community, primarily in a sports medicine setting for 15 years. She continues to enjoy using her manual therapy skills and knowledge of exercise-based interventions to help patients recover from injury. She has assumed many clinical leadership positions and has extensive experience treating workplace injuries such as shoulder sprain/strains, back related impairments (arthritis, disc injuries) and post operative knee injuries (ACL tears, meniscal repairs and various fractures) She is well versed at addressing musculoskeletal complaints incurred from long hours of computer work but also enjoys seeing patients with various sports related injuries such as meniscal tears, discogenic back pain, rotator cuff tendonopathies and ankle sprains. Outside of work, Vaiva likes to stay active and enjoys coaching a young girls club volleyball team in Etobicoke.

Anthony is a Registered Massage Therapist who graduated from Humber College. He enjoys building meaningful connections with people and addressing his patients concerns. Anthony’s philosophy is to assess and treat the root of the issue, form effective treatment plans, and to educate patients on how to future-proof their bodies through remedial exercises. With an athletic background himself, Anthony is extremely knowledgeable with common sports injuries.
